Description
£500 – £580 / day | Outside IR35 | 3 months | Hybrid (London / Kent travel)
Some transition roles are about coordination.
This one is about ownership.
You’ll be the person responsible for making sure complex MSP services land properly, across two enterprise customers, both going through significant change.
No hiding behind process. No passing things sideways - you’ll own it.
What’s the role really about?
This is a hands-on Service Transition role within an MSP environment, working across:
- A greenfield, heavily regulated client going through a full separation and rebuild
- An existing enterprise customer expanding services and transitioning from an incumbent provider
Two different challenges.
One expectation: deliver a smooth, structured transition into live service.
What’s in it for you?
- Rate: £500 – £580 / day
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Duration: 3 months (likely extension on one of the workstreams)
- Environment: Microsoft-led MSP, enterprise / regulated clients
- Ownership: You are the central point of accountability for the transition
- Complexity: Real transformation work, not BAU or light touch
What you’ll be doing
- Owning end-to-end service transition across multiple clients
- Planning, structuring, and driving transition activity - timelines, risks, dependencies
- Acting as the face of the transition with senior stakeholders
- Aligning services and delivery models to each client’s environment
- Working closely with delivery, engineering, and MSP leadership teams
- Operating alongside new ITSM tooling and ITIL-aligned processes as they’re rolled out
- Ensuring services move into support cleanly, without disruption
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience delivering MSP service transitions at enterprise scale
- Strong Microsoft environment understanding
- Solid, practical ITIL knowledge (not just theory)
- A delivery mindset: planning, risk, change, stakeholder management
- Gravitas: comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and complex environments
- The ability to operate in change, ambiguity, and moving parts
- A background in MSP / consultancy (not just internal IT)
The reality of the role
This isn’t a polished, perfectly structured environment.
There’s change happening.
New tooling being introduced.
Processes evolving.
They need someone who can step into that, bring structure, and make it work.
This role suits a Service Transition Consultant / Service Transition Manager - who’s done this before - someone who knows what “excellence” looks like, and is confident taking responsibility for getting there.
