Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Work Model: Hybrid/Flexible working - 1 day/week from home
Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 per annum

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our client’s team in Portsmouth. This role is perfect for someone with a background equivalent to a 2nd line IT support role (IT infrastructure support) who is ready to transition into the exciting world of cyber security.

This company will offer full training, support, and will pay for certifications to ensure you become a cyber security expert.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and apply patches to ensure system security.
  • Maintain the Cyber Security Risk Register, ensuring all risks are documented and addressed.
  • Configure and manage firewall rules to protect our network.
  • Utilise Microsoft End Point Protection and Microsoft Defender for advanced threat protection.
  • Conduct vulnerability management to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Optimise Microsoft Secure Score for enhanced security posture.
  • Conduct phishing simulations and staff training to raise awareness about cyber threats.
  • Implement Data Loss Protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities to prevent breaches.
  • Enhance security features within M365 and other essential software and hardware.
  • Address any other areas of cyber security as needed to protect the organisation.

 

What Is Required?

  • Experience in 2nd line IT support or a similar role.
  • A keen interest in cyber security and a desire to learn and grow in this field, or an already experienced person with a cyber security background.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
